A cracked wall, with light coming through the break. I was thinking about kintsugi, the Japanese repair in which broken pottery is joined with lacquer and powdered gold, so the mend is left visible and becomes part of the object. I wanted that idea made of light. The light runs the length of the break and fills it, and what was done to the wall is what lets the light through. The crack stays a crack. It is simply full now.
