A road runs through a tea estate in Nuwara Eliya, and I painted it in order to hide it. If you look closely you will find it, a subtle grey line, with the mountain rising on the left and the ledge falling away on the other side. The rows of tea curve around the slope, which is how they are planted, and everything here is blended into everything else until road, mountain and light are hard to separate. I wanted the finding of it to take a moment, because that is closer to how the road actually appears when you are up there in that weather.
